You can find us on Maldad Road in Sangamner, right near the Central Bank of India. We started Ambika Food Manufacturing because we wanted to make things people actually want to eat every day. The building itself isn't anything special to look at, but inside it’s always busy with something going on. We have a lot of different things happening depending on the time of year or what orders we have. Sometimes we are packing snacks, other times it’s something else entirely. The kitchen area stays pretty hot, especially when the ovens or stoves are all going at once during the afternoon shift. We hire a lot of people from around the neighborhood. It’s nice because we all know each other and it feels like a community. We try to keep things clean and tidy, but it's a food place, so there's always a bit of flour or something on the floor during the shift. We’ve been at this location for a good while now. The Central Bank across the way is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We don't really do much advertising because word of mouth has been enough for us so far. It’s just about getting the food prepared and out to the shops in the area. We work long hours, especially before the big festivals when everyone wants to stock up. It’s a lot of standing on your feet, but we enjoy the work we do here. The smells usually tell you what we're making.
