Western Railway

This office for Western Railway is tucked away in the Puroushottam Park Society, near Vallabh Park. It is in Chandkheda, which is a bit of a ride from the main parts of Gandhinagar. Being in a residential society like this feels a bit different than a huge station office, but it keeps things a bit quieter for us during the day. We handle a lot of the paperwork and local coordination from this spot. There is always a stack of files on the desk and someone on the phone. The address is A 194, and most locals know the landmark since we have been here a long time now. It is a simple setup. We have got a couple of desks, some chairs for visitors, and a lot of maps of the rail lines pinned up. Some days are slow, just filing things away, and other days the phone will not stop ringing because of a delay or a question from another department. We do not have a big sign or anything flashy outside the building. It is just the place where we do the work that keeps things moving on the tracks. You might see a few of us heading out for tea nearby when there is a break in the schedule. It is just a regular part of the neighborhood now. People come in, ask their questions, and we try to help them find the right info. It is basic work but someone has to do it.
