You’ll find us over at Ratnam Complex, right on the first floor at number 25. It’s a busy part of C.G. Road, especially with Kolkatta Bazar being just across the way. There is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside, but it gets a bit quieter once you come up the stairs to our shop. We’ve been handling gems and jewelry here for quite a while. The glass cases are usually full of different pieces we’re working on or showing to locals who drop in. It isn't a massive showroom with bright lights everywhere; it’s more of a traditional setup where you can sit down and actually look at things closely. We spend a lot of time cleaning the counters and organizing the stock because things tend to get messy when you're busy. My family and the staff know most of the regulars who come by to get things repaired or just to see what’s new in the trays. The parking on C.G. Road can be a real headache, so we usually see people walking in after parking a few blocks away. It’s a good spot though, being right in the middle of all the action. We have a small back room where we keep the tools and do the more delicate work. It’s a simple business, really. We just show up, open the shutters, and see who the day brings in.
