Vijaay Machine Tools

Vijaay Machine Tools is located in the Umiya Estate, right off N.H. No. 8 in Amraiwadi. We are at unit No. 1, situated behind the Bharat Party Plot. It is a very industrial part of town, so there are always trucks moving in and out of the estate. The dust from the highway is something we just have to live with every day. Our workshop is a large room with high ceilings and a lot of heavy metal equipment. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a quiet meeting. There is usually the sound of machines running or someone hammering something. We have a small corner with a desk and some old ledgers where we keep track of things. The tea here is brought in by a local vendor twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. We don’t use computers for everything; we still like our paper notebooks. Our floor is stained with oil and grease, which is expected for a machine tool shop. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with a shiny office. People come to us because they know where we are and they know we’ve been here in Umiya Estate for years. It gets very hot in the summer under the tin roof, but we have a couple of big pedestal fans to keep the air moving. We just take one job at a time and do it the way we’ve always done it. It’s straightforward work for us.
