Our spot is at Plot No. 11 in the Amba Estate area. If you know the Mehmedabad side, we are right near that Ring Road Circle. That circle gets pretty busy around five in the evening with all the bikes and trucks. We spend most of our time inside the unit dealing with the rubber materials. It’s a bit of a messy job, but someone has to do it. The smell of the raw rubber is something you just get used to after a couple of days. We have been at this location for some time now. The estate has a lot of different shops, so there is always some noise from the neighbors. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back to pass the time. It gets quite warm in the summer months under the tin roof, so we have those big industrial fans going all day long. Usually, we are just busy moving stock around or checking the machines. There is a small chai stall just around the corner where we go for a break. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we know each other pretty well. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning and glass walls. It’s just a practical workspace where we manage the rubber production and keep things moving. The floor is always a bit stained with black marks, but that’s just part of the work we do every day.
