Green Environment Services Co. Op. Soc. Ltd.

We’ve been working out of Plot No. 244-251 in Phase-2 of the Gidc for quite some time now. Being a cooperative society like Green Environment Services Co. Op. Soc. Ltd. means things run a bit differently here than at a private shop. It’s mostly about managing the environment stuff that comes with all these big factories nearby. The yard gets really busy, especially in the mornings when the trucks start rolling in. It is not glamorous work, dealing with waste and water and making sure things aren't just dumped wherever, but it is what we do. The sun gets pretty hot out here on the pavement during the summer months. Sometimes the machines act up or a pipe leaks, and we just have to get in there and fix it ourselves without much fuss. Most of the guys have been with the society for years, so we know each other's habits and how the equipment likes to be handled. We aren't trying to be some big corporate giant. We’re just a group of people in the Gidc trying to keep this part of the industrial estate from getting too messy. There is a lot of paperwork because of the nature of the work, and the office is usually stacked with files and empty tea cups. It’s a lot of physical labor and being outdoors regardless of whether it’s raining or boiling hot. You get used to the smell of the industrial area after a while. We just keep our heads down, do the day's tasks, and head home.
