G A Industries

G A Industries is tucked away in the Maruti Industrial Estate, Phase 1, over in Vatva, Ahmedabad. Our shed is C-66, which is right near Kiran Industries. This whole area is full of manufacturing units, so there is a constant smell of oil and metal in the air. We’ve been operating here for several years. It’s a solid space with high ceilings and a concrete floor that’s seen a lot of wear from the heavy parts we move. We do a mix of different fabrication and industrial jobs for various clients. It’s heavy work, and by the end of the shift, we’re all pretty tired and covered in grime. The machines we have are old but they still work fine as long as we grease them regularly and don't push them too hard. We don’t have an air-conditioned office; we just have a small cabin with a table where we keep the ledger and the phone. Most of the time we are out on the floor anyway. It gets very hot in Vatva during the summer months, so we start early in the morning to beat the worst of the heat. There’s a tea stall at the corner of the estate where we go for our breaks. It’s a no-nonsense environment. We just focus on getting the production numbers right and making sure the parts are sized correctly. It’s a regular life for us here.
