Evergreen Industries

We have been based here at C-1/b, 90/14 in the Gidc area for quite some time now. It is Phase-1, right behind the Bank of India in Vatva. It’s not a very fancy place, just a regular industrial shed where we get our work done every day. The weather in Ahmedabad can be really tough, especially in the summer months when the metal roof gets hot, but we have our fans going and we just keep at it. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we all know each other pretty well. We aren’t a huge corporation with a lot of fancy offices. It is mostly just us on the floor, making sure the machines are running and the orders are packed up. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lane behind the bank, which can be a real headache in the afternoons. We spend a lot of time just moving things around to make space. It’s a lot of manual work and standing on your feet. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write glossy brochures. This is just a place where things get made. We take our tea breaks together and talk about the news or the local cricket scores. It’s a simple life, honestly. We’ve seen other shops come and go in Vatva, but we just stay focused on our own small corner here and try to get through the daily list of tasks without too much fuss.
