The workshop for Bhagyesh Products is out at Plot No. 519, Phase-2, Gidc. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it’s where all the industrial action is. The building itself is pretty simple, just a big shed with some concrete walls and a heavy iron gate that squeaks every time you move it. We’ve been at this spot for a good while. Inside, it’s mostly racks of raw materials and the machines we use every day. It’s not the quietest place to spend a morning, but that’s the nature of the work we do. There’s always someone coming in or going out, usually a driver asking for directions or a neighbor from Plot 520 coming over to borrow a tool. We keep a big water cooler near the back door because it gets dusty and dry in the afternoons. Our desk is piled high with papers and logbooks because we still like to write everything down by hand. It feels more reliable that way. When the sun starts to go down, the shadows get long across the floor and we start cleaning up the scrap. It takes a bit of time to get the grease off our hands before we head home. We don’t really do anything fancy here at Plot 519, we just focus on the task at hand and try to stay on top of things.
