Our place, Amardeep Pigments, is situated at Plot No. C-1/69 in Phase-2 of the GIDC. When you work with pigments, everything ends up having a bit of color on it, including the walls and the floor. It is just the nature of what we do. We have been at this location for a while now. The space is filled with mixers and bags of raw materials. It can get pretty dusty during the grinding process, so we keep the fans running all day long. The work is mostly about getting the shades right and making sure the batches are consistent. It takes a lot of looking and checking. We are not a giant factory, just a local outfit that knows how to handle the materials. The staff here is small and we all pitch in with whatever needs doing, whether it is loading a truck or answering the phone. Phase-2 is quite crowded, so parking a truck near the gate can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when things quiet down for a bit. It is a straightforward way to make a living. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just stay at the plot and get the orders ready for whoever needs them. It is honest work and we take it one day at a time.
