Vasu Textile

Our place is on the first floor of the Opera House building. If you are coming from Salapas Road, you’ll see it near the G.P.O. area. It’s a bit of an old building, but it has a lot of history in this part of Mirzapur. We are at number 6, so you have to walk up the stairs and turn down the hallway. The light isn't great in the corridor, but it's fine once you get inside. Being so close to the post office means there is always mail being moved and people rushing around outside. We handle a lot of different textiles here, so the room usually smells like new cloth and dust. It isn't a place for sitting around; we are usually busy checking rolls of fabric or talking on the phone with people about deliveries. Sometimes the noise from the street below can be a bit much when the windows are open, but you get used to it. Mirzapur is a busy spot, and being near the G.P.O. makes it easy for people to find us even if the building itself looks a bit worn out. We don’t bother with fancy signs or anything like that. People who need to find us usually know where we are. It’s just a standard workspace where we get the day’s tasks done. We’ve been in this spot long enough that the floorboards have their own sounds. It is just how things are here.
