Rami Flowers

Rami Flowers is located right opposite Vastrapur Lake in Ahmedabad, near the Tgb Shop. It’s a beautiful spot, especially in the early mornings when the mist is still on the water and the flower trucks arrive from the markets. We start our day long before most people are even awake, unloading crates of roses, lilies, and marigolds. The shop isn't very big, and it’s always a bit damp because we have to keep spraying the floors and the buckets to keep the air cool for the plants. Ahmedabad gets so hot that it’s a constant struggle to keep everything from wilting by noon. We don’t have a team of designers; it’s just us putting together bunches for people who are heading to the temple or buying something for a birthday. You’ll usually find us trimming stems and cleaning up leaves while we chat with the regulars who walk by the lake. There’s a lot of noise from the traffic on the main road, but once you step inside, the smell of the flowers takes over. We don’t do much advertising because people just see us when they’re out for a walk. It’s a simple business of buying and selling things that look nice. We don't worry about being the fanciest florist in town. We just try to keep the flowers fresh and the prices fair for everyone who walks through the door.
