About Varahi Clinic – Medical & Healthcare in Ahmedabad
Started the clinic in Ghodastal a few years back. It’s not a huge place, just a few rooms where we see people from the neighborhood. Most mornings I’m here early, getting the lights on and checking if the cleaning was done right. The floor usually needs a second wipe because of the dust from the street. People start showing up around nine. Some have appointments, others just walk in because they live right around the corner and know we’re here. We’ve got some plastic chairs in the waiting area. They aren't the most comfortable things in the world, but they do the job. Sometimes the fan makes a clicking noise if it’s on the highest setting, so we usually keep it at three. It’s mostly just routine stuff—coughs, colds, and people needing their blood pressure checked. Ghodastal isn't a very quiet area, so you can always hear the traffic outside while we work. We know most of the faces that come through the door by now. If someone is running late, they usually call the landline. We don't have a fancy computer system or anything, just a big ledger and some files. It works for us. We just try to get through the day and help whoever walks in. It’s a simple life running a clinic here. Sometimes it gets busy, sometimes it’s slow enough that I can finish my tea before it gets cold. Usually, I spend a few minutes at the end of the day making sure the front door is locked tight.
