Urja Products Pvt. Ltd. is situated in the Odhav GIDC estate, specifically at units 423 to 425. We are right near the lane that leads to the telephone exchange, which is how most people find their way to us. Being in the GIDC means we are surrounded by all kinds of manufacturing units, so there is always a lot of noise and activity in the air. We focus on energy-related products, and our workshop is usually full of the smell of metal and grease. It is a large space, but it fills up quickly with all the materials we need for production. The lane outside is often blocked by trucks loading and unloading, so you have to be patient if you’re driving through. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze of equipment and workbenches. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning in the main area, so it gets quite hot during the summer months, but we have plenty of fans going to keep the air moving. The team here is mostly local guys who have been in the industrial sector for a long time. We start the shift early to beat the worst of the afternoon heat. There’s a lot of manual work involved, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’ve been part of the Odhav industrial community for a good while now. It is just a regular factory life for us.
