Umiya Garment

We are located out on Vastral Road. If you know this area, you know that the traffic can be a real headache, especially during the late afternoon hours. Our place is basically a garment shop and a small workshop all rolled into one. We have several sewing machines running for most of the day. It gets quite noisy and there are usually scraps of cloth all over the floor, no matter how many times we try to sweep up. We don't have a big marketing budget or some fancy website to show off. We just make the clothes and sell them to whoever needs them. People from the local neighborhood come in quite a bit. Sometimes we are working on a big batch of shirts for a client, and other times it is just small repairs for folks who live on the next street. It is a very simple setup. We have some racks for the finished items and a big wooden table for cutting the fabric. My brother and I started this business because we knew how to sew and we wanted to stay in this part of town. The rent on Vastral Road keeps going up, but we are hanging in there. We don't try to act like a big fashion brand. We just want to make sure the seams are straight and the fabric is good enough for everyday wear. It is long hours and our backs usually ache by the time we close up, but it is what we do. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines moving.
