If you are driving down the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway, you’ll find Uday Furniture World at Avdhesh. We are sitting right opposite the Gurudwara, which is a pretty easy landmark to spot. We’ve been selling furniture from this location for quite some time. The showroom has a lot of different things squeezed in, from wooden chairs to beds and cupboards. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped because we try to show as much as possible, but that’s just how it is. We spend most of our day talking to people who are moving into new homes or just need to replace an old table that finally broke. It’s a family-run sort of feeling here. We aren't big on fancy sales pitches or anything like that. We just show you what we have and tell you how much it costs. The highway gets really busy, especially in the evenings, so it can be a bit of a trek to get here during rush hour. We move things around quite often to make space for new stock coming in from the workshops. It’s dusty work sometimes, but we enjoy seeing a piece of furniture go to a home where it’ll be used for years.
