Our office is tucked away in the Krishnadham Apartment over in Maninagar. Being part of the Gujarat government, we deal with a lot of maps and land records here in Ahmedabad. Specifically, we are located in Prankunj Society, right near the Kakaria area. It is an old building, and we have heaps of files and documents everywhere. People come to us when they need to figure out land values or check on town planning schemes. It is mostly paperwork and looking at technical drawings all day. Some days the office is loud with people asking about their plots, and other days it is just the sound of staplers and pens. We are not a private company, so things move at a certain pace here. We follow the rules laid out by the department and try to get through the applications as they come in. The staff knows the local geography pretty well after years of looking at the same sectors and zones. We see how the city is growing from our desks, watching new areas get planned out on paper before the buildings actually go up. It is practical work that matters for how the city functions. If you need a valuation done, you will likely end up talking to one of us at our desks. We just try to keep the records straight and help the public when they have questions about their property.
