Our office is tucked away in 304, Supath Apartment, near the Vijay Cross Road in the Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad. It is a residential building, so it feels more like a home than a stiff business office. Torarch is where we spend our time looking at fabric swatches, wood samples, and floor plans. Because we are right near a major crossroad, the buzz of the city is always there in the background. We have transformed the apartment space into a studio where we can actually spread out our work. It is common to find sawdust on the floor if we are working on a small mock-up or piles of catalogues taking up the chairs. We don't have a fancy front desk or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, you just walk in and find us hunched over a laptop or talking to a contractor on the phone. We know the local markets in Ahmedabad well and spend a lot of time out at sites seeing how the designs are actually being built. It is a bit of a climb up to the third floor, but it gives us a bit of distance from the street noise. We are just a group of people who enjoy the practical side of making interiors work for real families. There are always half-finished projects lying around and sketches pinned to the walls. It is a messy, creative, and very normal way to spend our working hours in Navrangpura.
