Textile Brush Industries

Out in Bapu Nagar, specifically at 257 Indira Nagar, is where we handle the brush business. It’s a local neighborhood and everyone kind of knows each other. We make brushes that the textile factories need, which is a very specific kind of work. It involves a lot of bristles and wood and handles being moved around. The workshop is right there, so you can always smell the materials we use. It’s not a polished showroom. It’s a place where things are made by hand or with older machines that still work better than the new ones. We’ve had some of the same people working here for a long time. They know exactly how a brush should feel. Sometimes we get orders for things we’ve never made before, and we have to sit down and figure out how to put it together. It’s a lot of trial and error. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people going to the market. We just stay inside and keep the production going. We don't bother with fancy websites or big ads. People in the textile trade know where to find us when their brushes wear out. It’s a simple life and we like it that way. We just keep making what folks need. Most of our brushes are packed into old newspaper before they go out in boxes because it works just fine. The rain can be a bit of a problem for the wood storage, but we keep it covered.
