Our small studio is located in New Wadaj, right near the Akhbarnagar Circle in Ahmedabad. It is a part of the city that is always moving, and we are right there in the thick of it. We do creative work, which basically means we spend our days trying to come up with new ideas and then figuring out how to make them actually work. The office is a bit of a disaster zone most of the time. We have sketches pinned to the walls and stacks of books everywhere. We don't have a fancy interior designer; we just put things where they fit. Ahmedabad gets incredibly hot in the summer, so our days often involve a lot of cold water and complaining about the heat. We don’t have a formal hierarchy here. We all sit in the same room and shout ideas across the desks. Sometimes we get into long arguments about a color or a font, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to do our PR. Most of our clients are just people from the neighborhood or other businesses in Ahmedabad who have heard about what we do. We don't use big, impressive words to describe our work. We just show people what we’ve been making and hope it’s what they were looking for. It’s a simple, local way of doing things, and we've been here long enough that the tea seller outside knows exactly how we like our morning chai.
