If you’re looking for us, we’re tucked away in Phase 4 of the Vatva GIDC. Plot No. 3201 / 2 is where we spend all our daylight hours, and sometimes the nights too when we’re behind on a job. It’s an industrial area, so don’t expect it to be pretty. There is a lot of metal lying around—beams, scraps, and half-finished parts that we’re still working on. We started Ssrm Metal Engineers because we liked building things, and that’s pretty much what we still do every single day. My hands are almost always stained with something, whether it’s oil or just dirt from the site. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person telling us what to say. We just talk to the people who come by the workshop. Sometimes we argue about the best way to weld a joint or how to cut a piece of steel without wasting too much, but that’s just how we work. The fans in the ceiling try their best to keep us cool, but in the middle of summer, it’s a losing battle. We just drink a lot of water and keep the tools moving. It’s satisfying when a big piece of equipment is finally finished and loaded onto a truck. It leaves the yard, and then we start all over again on the next project.
