Sp Silk Mill

Sp Silk Mill is situated at I-1491-92 on the lower ground of the Millennium Textile Market. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know it’s like a giant labyrinth of fabric and people. Being on the lower ground means we don't get any natural sunlight, but we have plenty of bright tubes to show off the colors of the silk. The air is always a bit thick with lint and the smell of new cloth. We have bolts of silk stacked everywhere, sometimes making it hard to walk through the aisles. We spend our time unrolling fabric, checking for any flaws, and rolling it back up again. It’s a lot of repetitive motion, but you find a rhythm in it. The noise of the market is constant—people shouting, carts rolling across the tile floors, and phones ringing. It’s an energetic place to work, even if it is a bit crowded. We have to be careful with the silk because it’s easy to snag if you aren't paying attention. We’ve been in the Millennium Market for a while and we know the other shopkeepers around us. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just handling the textile business as it comes. It’s a long day on your feet, but seeing the different patterns of silk makes it interesting enough. We just stay busy and keep the mill moving.
