We are located at No. 711-A on Anil Road, which is right by the Anil Starch Mill. If you are in the neighborhood, you can usually tell you’re close by the sight of the big mill. Sonya Ceramics is our business, and we’ve been working with clay and tiles for a long time. The workshop is always a bit white with ceramic dust, and no matter how much we sweep, it seems to come back. We have rows and rows of samples, some finished and some just waiting for the kiln. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the shelves. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most people just walk through the work area to see what we are making. We have a couple of old fans that rattle when they're on, trying to keep the heat down. Sometimes our hands are dirty when we answer the door, but that’s just the job. We spend our days checking for cracks and making sure the colors look okay after firing. It’s not a perfect science; sometimes things break and we have to start over. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just make ceramic things that people need for their houses or businesses. It’s honest work, and we like being part of this local industrial patch. If you need something specific, we just look through the stacks together and see what fits.
