Sonia Export operates out of C-1301 in the Satyam Flat complex in Ahmedabad. Being up on the thirteenth floor means we are tucked away from the noise of the street, which is nice when you need to concentrate on numbers and logistics. It’s not your typical commercial office; it’s more of a home-office feel since it is inside a residential building. We have converted a couple of the rooms into our main workspace where we keep the computers and the filing cabinets. It’s a bit tight when we have a lot of samples arriving, but we make it work by staying organized. We focus mostly on the export side of things, dealing with various vendors and trying to coordinate all the moving parts. The view from the balcony is actually quite good, you can see a lot of the city from up here. Most of our work is done through email and phone calls, so we don't have a lot of walk-in traffic. It’s a quiet environment for the most part, except for when the phone starts ringing off the hook during peak season. We’ve been here for a while now and the neighbors are used to us having packages delivered frequently. It’s a simple setup, just us working through the daily tasks of managing shipments and making sure the documentation is in order for our clients. It is practical and it works for what we do without any unnecessary fuss.
