We are over here at Makarba Patia, right near the Ramdev Hotel on the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway. It’s a busy spot. Most days you’ll see us sorting out boxes or moving stuff around the trucks. We’ve been at this No 1 spot for a while now. Moving houses or shifting offices is just what we do every morning. It gets dusty and loud with all the traffic out on the highway, but we just keep at it. People come in asking about prices or how many boxes they might need for a three-bedroom flat. We tell them what we know. It’s not fancy work, but someone has to do the heavy lifting and get things from one side of the city to the other. Sometimes the tape runs out or a truck gets a flat tyre, but that is just part of the day. We spend a lot of time packing up glass and furniture so nothing breaks during the drive. The guys here have been doing this long enough that they know which boxes go first. It is mostly just about getting the job finished and moving on to the next one. We don’t have a big fancy office, just the place here near the hotel. If you are passing by the highway, you will probably see our sign. It is a simple life of lifting, loading, and driving back and forth across the roads here. It is just the way we have always done things.
