About Shrigayatri Krupa Pattern Works – Automobile in Ahmedabad
We’ve been at Plot No. 21 for a while now. Chamunda Nagar is where we set up, just near the Swatik Textile Cross Road. It's a busy spot in Amraiwadi. Most days it’s just us here working on the patterns. Some people come in looking for specific wood shapes or metal casting molds. It gets dusty in the shop, but that is part of the job. Usually, the morning starts with tea then we get right to the drawings and the cutting machines. We don't have a big front office or anything fancy. Just the workshop and our tools. Sometimes the traffic at the cross road gets a bit loud, but we are used to it by now. People find us because they know the area or saw the sign near the textile road. Pattern making is old school work. It takes time and a steady hand. We keep the floor as clean as we can, but by noon there are shavings everywhere. It's mostly just about getting the dimensions right so the foundry doesn't have issues later. If you walk past the Chamunda Nagar area, you’ll probably hear the machines running. We don't do much advertising. People just show up with their sketches or old parts they need a pattern for. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. The lights stay on until late if there is a big project. That’s just how it goes here in Amraiwadi.
