Shree Jay Ambe Auto Point

If you look right across from the Mahadev Temple in Sabarmati, you’ll see our shop in the Urja Complex. Being so close to the Visat petrol pump means there is always a line of vehicles nearby, and sometimes that brings people our way when they notice a problem with their bike or car. Shree Jay Ambe Auto Point is a busy little place. We usually have a few tools scattered around the floor and parts waiting to be fitted. It’s not the quietest spot because of the traffic on the main road and the temple bells ringing in the morning, but we like the energy of it. The shop is small, so things can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting at once. We spend most of our time with grease on our hands, fixing things or telling someone why their engine is making that weird rattling sound. We aren't trying to be some high-end showroom. It is just a regular auto point where we work on whatever comes through the door. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon is tough, so we take breaks under the shade of the complex. It feels good to be part of the local Sabarmati community. We know most of the regular faces who pass by every day. It’s just honest work, day in and day out, making sure people can get back on the road.
