Shree Ekveera Gadi Karkhana

We have been here at Plot No. 8012 in Vatva for quite a while now. Most people know G.I.D.C. is a busy place, but we keep things steady at our workshop. It gets dusty around here sometimes with all the material moving in and out, but that is just part of the daily routine. We handle the cotton, the fabrics, and the stitching machines from morning until the evening. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, or a delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow lane, and we just deal with it. It’s not a fancy office, just a workspace where we get the orders done. My family started this, and now a few of us work together to make sure the mattresses are filled right. We don't have a big team, just enough hands to manage the load. People from around Ahmedabad come by or call us when they need a new bed or want an old one stuffed again. We keep the ledger books on a small wooden desk near the entrance. The floor is usually covered in some scraps of cloth by noon. It is noisy with the machines running, but it feels like home to us. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The weather in Vatva gets really hot in the summer, so we start early. That is basically how we spend our days here.
