Shardul Printing Press

Shardul Printing Press is located in the basement of Rambha Complex on Ashram Road. We are right near the Ajanta Commercial Center and just across from Gujarat Vidyapith, near the Income Tax office. Since we are in the basement, it stays a bit cooler down here, but we rely on the overhead lights all day. We do all kinds of printing work, from small cards to bigger stuff that takes up the whole table. The smell of ink is pretty strong once you walk down the stairs. It’s a busy spot because Ashram Road is always packed with traffic and people going to the government offices nearby. Often, we get people rushing in because they need something printed for a filing at the Income Tax building. We try to help them out as fast as we can. The machines we use are a bit older, so they have their own personalities and quirks. Sometimes they need a little nudge to keep going. It’s not a shiny, modern studio. It’s a working press with stacks of paper everywhere and ink stains on the floor. I’ve been here for years, and I’ve seen the city change through the window... well, if we had a window, but we just see the feet of people walking by on the sidewalk above. It’s a steady job and we like being in the middle of such a busy part of the city. We just keep our heads down and keep the rollers turning. It keeps us out of trouble.
