Ankan Graphics

You have to climb up to the first floor at 30 Advani Market to find us. Ankan Graphics is located right outside Delhi Gate on Shahibaug Road. It’s a very busy area of Ahmedabad. The traffic outside is constant and you can always hear the rickshaws and buses. Our office is often filled with the smell of ink and the sound of printers humming away. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be careful not to trip over the boxes of paper sitting on the floor. We have a few computers that stay on all day and the desks are usually covered in proofs and sketches. The light coming through the windows is often blocked by the signs from other shops in the market. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. People come in with their ideas and we try to get them down on paper or screen. We don't have a fancy lounge for clients. Usually, they just stand by the desk or sit on a spare stool while we show them the designs. The stairs up to our floor are a bit steep and narrow. We’ve been in Advani Market for a while now, so we know all the other shopkeepers around us. We get our coffee from the stall downstairs. It’s a fast-paced environment and there is always a deadline to meet, but we just take it one job at a time. It's just us and the machines, making sure the prints look okay before they go out.
