Abhijyot Associates has its base at Abhijyot Green, which is just tucked behind Umiya Vijay Society. It is a quiet enough spot, which helps when we need to concentrate on all the technical details of our building projects. We have been working in this area for a while, so we know the local ground conditions and what the neighbors expect. A lot of our time is spent talking to contractors and checking on the progress of the brickwork or the plumbing. It’s a lot of coordination. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby; usually, if you come by, you’ll just see one of us at a desk covered in papers. We like it that way because it keeps our overhead low. The people living in Umiya Vijay Society probably see us coming and going all the time. Our work is mostly about residential developments, making sure houses are built solid. We’ve seen the neighborhood grow quite a bit since we started. Sometimes things get delayed because of rain or because a shipment of tiles didn't arrive, and we just have to figure it out. There’s no point in stressing too much about things we can't control, so we just focus on what we can fix. It’s a simple business model, really. We build things, we talk to people, and we try to do a decent job every day. That’s what keeps the lights on around here.
