Kaaleen

Our shop, Kaaleen, is at 210 Someshwar Complex 2. We are right on Satellite Road, just across from the Star Bazar. It’s a good spot because everyone knows where the bazar is. The complex is always busy with people coming and going. We have a decent-sized space for the rugs and carpets we keep. It’s a bit dusty because of the fabric, but we try to keep it tidy. Most of the day is spent unrolling things for people to look at and then rolling them back up again. It’s hard on the back, but it’s the job. We have a small kettle in the back for making tea. The afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard, so it gets warm inside during the summer. We’ve been here since the complex was relatively new. There are a lot of other businesses around us, so we usually grab tea from the stall downstairs. It’s a simple life. We don’t have any big marketing plans or anything. We just open up in the morning, wait for people to come in, and show them what we have on the racks. It’s a quiet way to spend the day when the street traffic isn't too loud. Some customers have been coming to see us for years, and we know their families and what they like. It’s a steady pace that suits us just fine.
