We are located at 2043 Sarangpur Dolatkhana, right across the way from Upasana School. If you know that area, you know how packed it gets when the kids are coming or going. Our shop is filled with bags of all shapes—travel bags, school bags, and some heavy-duty ones too. There’s always the sound of sewing machines running in the background, a sort of constant hum that you stop noticing after the first hour. The floors are often covered in little snips of thread and pieces of fabric that fell during the day. We have bags hanging from the ceiling and piled up on every available shelf. It’s a bit of a squeeze to walk through the aisles sometimes. My family has been doing this kind of thing for years, and we just keep at it because it’s what we understand. We don't spend money on big advertisements; people usually find us because they’re in the neighborhood or they saw someone else carrying one of our bags. Sometimes we sit on the stools near the entrance and talk to the neighbors while we work on a repair or sort through a new delivery of zippers. The sun hits the front of the shop in the afternoon, making it a bit warm, but we just leave the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through. It’s a simple life here in Sarangpur, just making sure the zippers work and the straps are strong enough for the long haul.
