Sanghi Industries Limited, Cement Division, Bhuj

Our office is located at 48 Kameshwar Tenaments, which is on the road that goes from Vejalpur to Ramdevnagar in Bhuj. It is a residential area, so we are right in the middle of where people live. We are the cement division for Sanghi Industries here. Working out of a tenement means it’s a very small, close-knit environment. You can usually hear the sounds of the neighborhood while we are working. We handle the local distribution for Bhuj and the surrounding areas. Since the big earthquake years ago, there has always been a lot of rebuilding and new construction in this part of Kutch. We try to keep things moving so builders have what they need. It’s not a large staff here, just a few of us who know the local roads and the people. We spend a lot of time sitting at our desks or heading out to meet people at their sites. It is a very informal way of working. We don’t have a big lobby or a receptionist. If someone needs something, they just knock on the door or give us a call. It is a bit dusty sometimes because of the dry weather in Bhuj, but we are used to it. We focus on the practical side of getting the bags delivered. It is a steady, everyday kind of job for us. We often have to coordinate with the main factory for fresh supplies.
