Bloomsvilla

Our shop is located in Motera, over in the Sabarmati area of Ahmedabad. It is a busy neighborhood, especially with the stadium nearby, but we’ve managed to stay tucked away in our spot for a while. We mainly deal with flowers and plants. It is not an easy job in this heat. Ahmedabad gets so hot that we have to spend a lot of time just keeping things from wilting. I spend most of my mornings at the flower market before the sun gets too high, then it is back to the shop to sort everything out. The place usually smells like wet dirt and cut stems, which is nice, even if the floor is always covered in leaves. We aren't those high-end decorators you see on the internet. We are just a local florist. People come in when they need something for a birthday or a funeral, and we do our best to put a nice bouquet together. Sometimes we don't have the exact flower someone wants, so we suggest whatever looks fresh that day. It is a small team here. We don't have any big mission statements. We just like plants and want to make sure the customers get something that isn't dead by the time they get home. It’s a lot of work with our hands, trimming thorns and changing water.
