Being tucked away behind Nirma University near Godrej Garden City gives us a different vibe than the city center. At Balatripur Sundari Developers, we see a lot of students passing by and the traffic is mostly people heading toward the campus. Our day usually starts with a quick check of the emails and then we head out to see how the bricks and mortar are holding up. It’s a lot of walking around and talking to the contractors. The office itself is pretty basic, just a place to keep the rain off our heads and store the blueprints. We end up spending more time on the actual ground than in our chairs. The area is growing fast, so there’s always something new being dug up or put down. We try to keep our corner of the world somewhat tidy, but construction isn't a clean job. There's always mud on the floor and someone looking for a lost hammer. We don’t bother with big meetings or long speeches. If something needs fixing, we just go and fix it. It’s practical work. Sometimes we sit outside when the weather is decent just to get away from the noise of the machinery for a few minutes. It's a long day most days, but it's what we do. The university area has its own rhythm and we’ve just become a small part of it over time, watching the buildings rise up slowly.
