Our workplace, Rsrg Mohta Spg & Wvg Mills Pvt Ltd, is situated in Dhun House on Mission Road in the Bhadra area. It is an old building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying anything heavy. The walls are thick, but you can still hear the traffic from the road outside all day long. Inside, the spinning and weaving machines take up almost every inch of floor space. It is a very industrial atmosphere. We have been working out of this location for a while, and the floors have become smooth from all the feet walking over them for years. There is a specific smell of oil and cotton that hits you as soon as you walk in. We spend a lot of our shift just watching the threads to make sure nothing snaps. It is the kind of job where you have to pay attention even when you are tired. The windows are high up and a bit grimy, so the light inside is always a little dim. We usually eat our lunch together in the small back room near the office. There is always someone coming in with a delivery or asking about an order. We just handle the day-to-day business without making a big fuss. Bhadra is a busy place to be, and Mission Road is always packed with people moving around. We just fit right into the middle of it.
