R.K. & Sons

R.K. & Sons is located inside the Hotel Sahara building, right across from the Sunheri Masjid on Salapas Road. We are very close to the Relief Cinema, so there is always a lot of noise and energy in the air. The shop is not very large and the ceiling is quite high. We have shelves that go all the way up, and we use a wooden ladder to reach the stuff at the top. It is a bit dark inside because the building is old and the windows are small. We have been here for many years and have seen the street change quite a bit. The walls have some cracks and the floor tiles are worn down from people walking on them. We spend most of our time sitting near the front so we can see who is coming in. There is a small desk where we keep our books and a calculator that has seen better days. We know all the regular people who pass by every day. Sometimes we sit on stools outside the door when it gets too hot inside. We do not have any air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that move the warm air around. It is a simple place with a lot of history. We just open up in the morning and stay until the market starts to quiet down at night. It is just our daily life here on Salapas Road.
