Nirman Complex, near Sayona City in the Chankyapuri area of Ahmedabad, is where you can find our Ritco Logistics office. The afternoon sun hits the windows pretty hard there, which makes it warm inside. Most of the time is spent dealing with the logistics of moving goods across the region for various people. There’s always a stack of documents on the desk that need signing or filing away. We don’t have a corporate feel here; it’s more like a regular workplace where everyone knows each other’s names and families. We listen to the radio while we work and drink tea twice a day to keep going. The work involves a lot of coordinating with truck owners and making sure the cargo is ready to go when the driver arrives. Sometimes things get delayed at the warehouse or the roads are blocked because of a festival, but we just deal with it as it comes. We aren't interested in making things sound more complicated than they really are. It’s basically about getting stuff from one place to another. The office is filled with the smell of old paper and the sound of the keyboard clicking away all afternoon. Most of the people who come here are regulars who have been working with us for years. We just keep things simple and try to stay on top of the shipping schedule. It’s a steady routine that keeps the whole business running.
