Riddhi Matarnity Home

Riddhi Maternity Home is over in Vejalpur, specifically in the Gundavalo Vas area. We are right near the big water tank, which is the easiest way to find us. It is a local place for mothers and their new babies. Things can get pretty loud here with the sound of crying infants, but that is just part of the job. We have been in this neighborhood for a long time. The building is simple and fits right in with the rest of Gundavalo Vas. We have rooms for the mothers to stay in and a small area for checkups. It is not like those big city hospitals with hundreds of beds. We are much smaller than that. People from the surrounding streets usually just walk over when they have an appointment. We see a lot of familiar faces. Sometimes the grandparents come along too, so the waiting area gets a bit tight. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall or anything. We just help with births and take care of the moms. The staff is mostly local women who know the community well. It is a practical place. We keep the floors scrubbed and the lights on, and we wait for the next family to arrive. It is a nice way to spend the day, seeing new life come into the world right here in Vejalpur. We just keep things running.
