Up on the eighth floor of Rivera Tower-3, we get a pretty good view of the Adajan Road area. Being behind Laljinagar means we are right in a very active part of Surat. This city never really seems to slow down, and Adajan is no exception. Our office is number 801, and it’s a bit of a climb if the elevator is acting up, which happens more than we’d like. Working for Reliance Industries Ltd from a high-rise feels a bit different than a street-level shop. It’s quieter up here, away from the honking cars, which helps when we need to concentrate on the accounts or the schedules. We have a simple setup with a few desks and a water cooler that everyone congregates around. Surat is famous for its food, so lunch is usually the highlight of our day when someone brings something good from a local stall. The office isn't decorated with anything special, just some calendars and the necessary equipment. We deal with a lot of people over the phone and via email. Sometimes the sea breeze reaches us, which is nice. We don’t have a formal dress code or anything; we just show up and do what needs to be done. It’s a steady kind of life. We focus on the daily grind and try to stay on top of the work that comes in from the main offices. We just do the work.
