Anant Agarbatti Works

If you walk near Chandulal Estate on Nagarwel Hanuman Road, you can usually smell us before you see us. Anant Agarbatti Works is located at units 9-11, right near Keval Kata in the Rakhial area. We spend our days mixing powders, oils, and resins to make incense sticks. The floors are always covered in a fine dust from the charcoal and wood powders we use every day. It is a messy job, and our hands are usually stained dark by the end of the shift. We have been in this part of Rakhial for a long time now. The building is old and gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we have our own rhythm. We don't use big automated machines for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand or with very simple tools. There are racks and racks of sticks drying in the back room. Sometimes the batches don't turn out quite right if the humidity is too high, so we have to watch the weather closely. We aren't looking to be some global brand; we just supply the local shops and people who know our scents. It's a family-style environment where everyone knows each other’s business. We keep the doors open to let some air in, and the noise from the road is just part of the background. It’s honest work that keeps us on our toes and pays the bills.
