Jitendrakumar Lalbhai

Our place, Jitendrakumar Lalbhai, is located at 58, New Cloth Market, which is just outside the Raipur Gate. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how busy this market gets, especially during the peak seasons. We are surrounded by stacks of cloth and the constant chatter of traders and customers. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every bit of wall space to pile up the fabrics. It’s been this way for a long time. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff that most businesses seem to have now. People usually just know we are here and stop by to see what we have in stock. The floor is old stone and the ceiling is high, which helps a little bit with the heat when the market gets crowded. We spend most of our time measuring out lengths of material and talking to the people who come in. There is always a bit of dust in the air from all the textiles, but you get used to it after the first week. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most famous shop in the market. We just want to do our work, keep our regulars happy, and go home at the end of the day. It’s a simple life at Raipur Gate, and we’re happy to be a part of the history here.
