Devendrakumar Vrundavandas

You can find us over at 299 in the New Cloth Market. It is right outside Raipur Darwaja, which stays busy from very early in the morning until late at night. The market is always full of people moving big bales of fabric and shouting across the aisles. Our space isn't very large, but it’s packed with what we need. The name Devendrakumar Vrundavandas is on the small board, though most of the regular guys around here just know which door to knock on. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the market roof. We usually have a small fan going that makes a clicking noise, but you get used to it after a few years. There’s always someone drinking tea nearby, and the smell of the food stalls from Raipur Darwaja drifts in sometimes. We spend a lot of time just moving piles of cloth around and making sure the numbers in the ledger match up. It is not the kind of place you’d go for a quiet meeting. It’s noisy and a bit chaotic, but that is just how the cloth market operates. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the wooden floorboards have grown smooth from all the walking. It is just how we do things here every single day.
