Our office is at 9-B, Shiv Shankalp Society in the Naranpura area. It’s a bit different because we are tucked away in a residential society rather than a big commercial complex. It makes the mornings a lot quieter, which we actually prefer. You can hear the neighbors going about their day while we are inside checking our ledgers and responding to mail. The space is basically a converted flat, so it has a very homey feel to it. We have a small team of three people who handle all the daily tasks. We’ve set up our desks in the main room and the back room is used for storing all our records and some samples. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a receptionist or a waiting area. People usually just knock and walk in. We spend a lot of time on our computers, but we also do a fair amount of walking to the local bank or the post office nearby. Naranpura is a nice place to work because everything you need is within walking distance. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising. Most people who deal with us have been doing so for decades. We just keep things simple, do our daily work, and try to finish up by six so we can avoid the worst of the evening traffic. It’s a steady, quiet way to run a business.
