You can find Priyam Medical right opposite Shardaben Hospital in Saraspur. Being across from a big hospital means we stay pretty busy most of the time. People come out of the hospital and walk straight over to us with their papers. The shop is small, so it can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting. I try to move as fast as I can to get everyone what they need. Saraspur is an old area, so the streets are narrow and there’s always something going on outside. We keep a lot of stock because the hospital doctors prescribe all kinds of things. Sometimes we run out of a specific brand, but we usually have something else that works the same. The walls are lined with shelves from floor to ceiling. I've worked here long enough that I don't really need to look at the labels for the common stuff. It’s just me and a helper usually. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of fans that stay on all day. It’s a simple life running a medical store here. We know the doctors across the street and most of the locals who live in the lanes behind us. It’s just a regular part of the neighborhood. The mornings are usually the loudest with all the rickshaws passing by the hospital entrance.
