Our workshop is at unit number 4 in the Ambika Estate. It’s right near Moon light chemical and across from the Talavadi on the CTM RAMOL Road. It’s a busy industrial patch in RAMOL. You can usually tell where we are because of the smell from the chemical factory next door, though you get used to it after an hour or so. We do a lot of small-scale production here. The space isn't very big, so we have to be careful about how we stack the raw materials. We have a few machines that have been running since we started, and they need a bit of oil and attention every morning to keep them going. The floor is concrete and has a lot of stains from years of work. We don't have a secretary or anything like that; if the phone rings, whoever is closest to the office area picks it up. Usually, that’s me or my cousin. We get a lot of dust from the road because the trucks are always flying by. Lunch is a quick affair, usually just sitting on some crates in the shade. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is humid, but we’ve got a good group of guys who don’t complain much. We just focus on getting the parts made and shipped out to the customers who need them. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we just keep at it day after day.
