If you are looking for us, we are at number 233 on Thambu Chetty Street. Some people still use the old number 114, which can be a bit confusing for new delivery drivers. This street in Chennai is always humming with activity, mostly people moving hardware and metal goods around. We deal with wires here, and it is a heavy, dirty job most days. Our floors are usually covered in bits of copper or plastic insulation that we haven't swept up yet. We have big spools stacked up against the walls, and the smell of metal is pretty much stuck in the curtains by now. It isn't a place where you would want to wear a nice suit. We have been operating out of this same building for many years. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the orders to worry about that. We have a few regular guys who have been with us since the beginning. We don't go in for fancy talk or big promises. We just look at the gauges, check the weights, and get the wire loaded onto the trucks. It is hot work, especially in the middle of the day, but we are used to the rhythm of the street and the heat of the city. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing.
