Pramod Silk & Sarees

Our little shop is tucked away on the first floor of the F. S. Complex. If you find Shop Number 17, you have found us. We are right there on M. S. Lane in Ramannapet. It is a busy part of town near the J. M. Road Cross. Every morning we climb those stairs and get things ready for the day. Pramod Silk & Sarees is the name we have on the board outside. We spend most of our time folding and unfolding different fabrics. The silk feels nice under your hands but it sure is a lot of work to keep it all neat. The shelves are pretty full and sometimes it feels a bit cramped in here. We have some old fans that hum while we work. My cousin helps me out with the customers. Most people who come in are from the neighborhood. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights like the big malls. It is just a regular place where we sell sarees. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to raise our voices. We have been in this complex for quite some time now. You get used to the noise and the rhythm of the lane. We usually close up once the sun goes down and the street gets a bit quieter. It’s a simple life selling silk. We aren't trying to change the world, just doing our daily business at number 12.
