Prakash Furniture (Maninagar)

You’ll find us in the basement of Raj Chamber, specifically at shop number 24. It’s on Jasodanagar Road, near Gor Kuwa in Maninagar East. Being in a basement means it stays a little cooler than the street level, which is nice during the summer months. We have furniture pieces squeezed into every corner of the shop. Maninagar East is a lively neighborhood, and there is always something going on upstairs on the road. We spend most of our time assembling pieces or talking to people who walk down the stairs to see what we have. It’s not a big corporate store. It’s just a local shop where things are a bit cramped but we know where everything is. We’ve been at this Raj Chamber location for some time now. You can hear the traffic from the Jasodanagar Road all day long, but you stop noticing it after a while. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, someone’s cousin or neighbor told them to come check us out. We work with wood and various other materials to put together things for people's homes. It’s dusty work and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We just try to be honest about what we can do and how long it will take. It’s a simple life, working in the basement and meeting the people of Maninagar every day.
